Research subject for a potential FP6 project

1. Regional disparities, marginalized regions, represent one of the most important problems of the transforming period in the V4 Countries.
2. Growing disparities between regions has important socio-economic, socio-cultural and socio-political and in general socio-spatial consequences.
3. In the case of V4 Countries mainly eastern parts of Poland, Slovakia and Hungary represent relatively compact marginalized area of Central-Eastern Europe located on the contact zone to the problematic regions of western part of Byelorussia, western part of Ukraine and western part of Rumania.
4. From the enlargement perspective (but not only) should be very important to observe and analyze the processes, which foster the positive changes (institutional networks, citizenship activities, policies, etc.) on the one side and obstacles for this changes on the other side.
