Research subject for a potential FP6 project

The group of the Department of Space Physics, Institute of Experimental Physics, Slovak Academy of Sciences in Kosice, has long term experience with monitoring and physical analysis of measurement of energetic particles in space both on low and high apogee orbits, as well as with the ground based measurements of cosmic rays at Lomnicky Stit (High Tatras mountains, neutron monitor with continual operation, with relatively high statistical accuracy and good temporal resolution at altitude 2634 m above sea, data in real time and the archive is at
http://neutronmonitor.ta3.sk
). The group has a long track of experience with the design, construction, testing and operation of relatively simple, monitoring type of experiments measuring fluxes, energy spectra and angular distribution of energetic ions, electrons, as well as gamma rays and neutrons, e.g. on satellites ACTIVE, INTERBALL, CORONAS and others. Besides the case and statistical type of studies on the dynamics of energetic particles within the magnetosphere, near its boundary regions and in interplanetary space, which are continuing, the archives of data and the experience of the team can be used in various aspects of studies of the relations between energetic particles and the effects of Space Weather. The experience with electronics constructed for various satellites can be also used.
