Research subject for a potential FP6 project

The rostral migratory stream, functionally spanning the subventricular zone and olfactory bulb, permits comparison of cellular mechanisms involved in the immature and adult neurogenesis cascade and offers a unique opportunity to study proliferation, migration, and integration of new neurons into functional circuits throughout the live. Our laboratory, focused on neuromorphological and behavioral research, performs olfactory bulbectomy (in neonatal as well as adult rats) as a simple model of neurogenic regions injury.
