Research subject for a potential FP6 project

Climatic change becomes a real menace for contemporaneous human civilisation, typical of enor-mously dense population, decreasing adaptability to nature variations, progressively increasing dependance on stable water and food sources, problems with recycling of materials (including the air‘. However, any search for causes and trends of these changes cannot result in veracious results without knowing their evolution and causal coherences.

Paleoclimatic data derived from rock record and compiled by geoscientific methods are of the first importance in limitation of long-termed climate- and associated natural systems. Although direct detailed prognosis of further climate development cannot be expected, results obtained by mathematical models are far less reliable. More thorough knowledge of earming-up and cooling-up history of the Earth can promote drawing realistic conclusions for find out practical tools avoiding crucial and catastrophic Earth climate changes.
